ANNUAL MARINE LAW ENFORCEMENT SCHOOL IN KINGSTON

(Albany, New York, April 20, 1998....) New York State Parks, in conjunction with the City of Kingston Police and the Ulster County Sheriff's Department, will conduct its annual Marine Law Enforcement School in Kingston from April 27-May 1.

Courses being offered this year will include basic marine law enforcement techniques and procedures, including boarding scenarios, search and seizure fundamentals and accident investigation. A second course will focus on patrol-boat handling and maneuvering, including towing methods, search and rescue operations, firefighting and helicopter rescue exercises.

The schedule for the basic course is as follows:

Waterfront Boarding Scenarios:
Wednesday, April 29, 2:30-5 p.m.
Thursday, April 30, 8 a.m.-noon and 2:30-5 p.m.
Friday, May 1, 8 a.m.-noon

Basic Water Survival Training:
Thursday, April 30, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m.

The schedule for the Marine Patrol Vessel Operation course is as follows:

Small Boat Handling
Monday, April 27, 10:30 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m.

Towing
Tuesday, April 28, 9 a.m.-noon and 2-5 p.m.

Helicopter and Underway Operations:
Thursday, April 30, 1-5 p.m. (Subject to U.S Coast Guard helicopter availability.)
