PICNIC SHELTER AT PEEBLES ISLAND AVAILABLE FOR RENTAL

(Albany, New York June 1, 1998 ...) With the new picnic shelter now officially open at Peebles Island State Park in Waterford, Parks Commissioner Bernadette Castro said today the facility is now available for summer rental.

Cost to rent the shelter is $75, and an additional $50 to use the kitchen. To reserve the facility, call park manager Donnarae Gordon at 463-8738.

The shelter has enough room to accommodate 75-80 people, and includes picnic tables, restrooms and a large, fireplace grill for cooking. The kitchen has a three-base sink and shelves.

"This shelter will be the prototype for all new shelters we build at our state parks," said Commissioner Castro. "It offers a great location for a family picnic or event and has all of the recreational facilities a state park should have."
