PARKS COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS TO REGIONAL STATE PARK COMMISSIONS

(Albany, New York, June 25, 1998...) New York State Parks Commissioner Bernadette Castro today announced three appointments to regional state park, recreation and historic preservation commissions.

Appointments to the 11 regional state park commissions are made by Governor Pataki and confirmed by the Senate. All of the appointments were confirmed by the Senate on June 18.

The appointments include:

Ann O'Sullivan, of Stony Point, nominated May 29, 1998 for a term to expire February 12, 2003, as a member of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission.

Sandra Murphy Mead, of Endicott, nominated February 20, 1998 for a term to expire January 31, 2005, as a member of the Central New York State Park, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commission.

Ralph O'Dell, of Putnam Valley, nominated May 29, 1998 for a term to expire January 31, 2004, as a member of the Taconic State Park, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commission.

"These individuals will serve as outstanding assets to our regional parks commissions," said Commissioner Castro. "I'm confident they will help us continue the outstanding progress we have made at our state parks and historic sites under the great leadership of Governor Pataki."
