Public Hearing Set on Draft Master Plan for Clarence Fahnestock Memorial and Hudson Highlands State Parks
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation has completed a Draft Master Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for Clarence Fahnestock Memorial and Hudson Highlands State Parks within Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester Counties.
The master plan outlines OPRHP's vision for potential capital improvements, operational enhancements and natural and cultural resource stewardship within Clarence Fahnestock Memorial and Hudson Highlands State Parks for the next ten to fifteen years. Factors such as the availability of funding, the need to invest in rehabilitation of existing park infrastructure, and other pressing needs in the entire state parks system will influence the feasibility and timing of the improvements.
Copies of the Draft Plan/DEIS are available for review at the Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park Office, at the offices of the agency contacts and at the Butterfield Memorial Library, 10 Morris Ave. Cold Spring, NY, the Howland Public Library, 313 Main Street, Beacon, NY and at the Kent Public Library, 17 Sybil's Crossing, Kent Lakes, NY. A public hearing will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 7:00PM at Hubbard Lodge, 2880 Route 9, Cold Spring, NY. Written comments will also be accepted until November 5, 2010 and may be submitted by email to: Fahnestock-HH.Plan@oprhp.state.ny.us.
