OPRHP Kicks off Master Planning Project for Governor Alfred E. Smith/Sunken Meadow State Park

The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) Long Island Region will be holding a public information meeting regarding the preparation of a Draft Master Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Sunken Meadow State Park. OPRHP encourages the public to participate in the planning efforts for the park and welcomes all comments and suggestions.

The meeting will be held at the Kings Park High School, 200 New York 25A, Kings Park, NY 11754 in the cafeteria on March 3, 2011 at 7:00 PM. OPRHP staff will make a brief presentation about the master planning process and the park and receive public comments. An information packet is available at: http://www.nysparks.com/inside-our-agency/master-plans.aspx.

All persons interested in Sunken Meadow State Park are urged to attend; those who cannot may submit written comments by April 4, 2011 to:
