Hallock State Park Preserve offers a total of 225 acres. Hallock State Park Preserve is a shorefront park preserve that offers nearly one mile of pristine beachfront on the North Shore of Long Island along the Long Island Sound.

Hiking, nature walks, and bird watching are available. Development of the remainder of the preserve is in the planning stages and may include formal trails, environmental education, and activities appropriate for a park preserve.

    April - October Hours are 10AM - 6PM 
    November - March hours are 8AM - 4PM

    Closed Mondays & Tuesdays

  • Parking fee is $8 per car. 

    Empire passport and Golden Park Program accepted.

A Photographer’s Journey through McNeil River Bear Sanctuary

The McNeil River Brown Bear Sanctuary on the Alaska Peninsula is a very unique place for up close viewing of wildlife, especially brown bear. Photographer Kevin Ferris (ozarkimages.com) has visited the McNeil River sanctuary several times and will present a program that covers the history of the sanctuary, conservation approach applied at the McNeil Sanctuary as well as the photo experience. The sanctuary is accessible only through a lottery system which limits visitors to this amazing place.

Parking Instructions: Meet at the Visitor Center. Ages for all projects: All ages welcome

Volunteer Project #1: There will be a presentation by the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society at 1:00 p.m., followed by a beach-cleanup. Refreshments will be provided. Please bring: Garden gloves, water, sunscreen
