Oquaga Creek State Park is just 3 hours from New York City and New Jersey, which makes its forested campsites the perfect summer escape. The park offers a 55-acre Arctic Lake where anglers can fish for black bass, bullheads and rainbow trout. The rolling, wooded hills are ideal for winter sledding. Winter visitors can also ice fish on the frozen lake and snowshoers and cross-country skiers can explore ten miles of trails. If you like to camp, 90 non-electric sites are available. If you don't want to bother to pack a tent and equipment, you may be interested in the Full Service Accommodation. This cottage provides 2 bedrooms, a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, cooking utensils dishes and silverware and more.

The newly redecorated two story cottage offers a kitchen, living room with fire wood stove, one and a half baths, master bedroom with a Queen bed, second upstairs bedroom with three double beds, gas and electric heat, stove with oven, refrigerator, furniture, cooking utensils, dishes, glassware, and silverware. Linens are not supplied. For outdoor meals and campfires, a picnic table and gas grill are provided. 

Unfortunately, our cabins and full service cottage are not available on a "walk in" basis when the office is closed.  Please CALL AHEAD to confirm office hours, as well as availability of our cabins, or our full service cottage.  Reservations for cabins or full service cottage STRONGLY encouraged after Labor Day.

Oquaga Creek offers "rustic" cabins. These cabins are the perfect in-between for campers who like tents and cabins. Offering protection from the elements, they sleep six, but have no electricity or water. Two night minimum stay required for reservations. Reservation and out-of-state resident fees also apply.


Seasonal Camping Now Available: A limited number of campsites have been made available at the facility for seasonal camping. Patrons who are interested will need contact the park directly to make their reservations. Seasonal campsites do not include electricity, water or sewer services. No additional discounts, including the Access Pass, will be accepted for seasonal camping. For more information, contact Oquaga Creek State Park at 607-467-4160.


 

 

Pet Policy: A maximum of two pets are allowed in campsites and day use areas unless prohibited by sign or directive. Pets are to be supervised at all times and either be crated or on a leash not more than 6-feet in length. Proof of rabies inoculation shall be produced if requested by staff. Pets are not permitted in playgrounds, buildings, golf courses, boardwalks, pools and spray-grounds or guarded beaches (this does not apply to service animals).

Hours of Operation

  • The park is open year round, seven days a week, dawn to dusk.

    Some facilities such as bathrooms, concession stand and certain campsites are NOT AVAILABLE after Labor Day.  Please call ahead with any questions.

    Park Office Hours:  
    Generally 8 am to 9 pm daily during camping season, but please call ahead.
  • Boat Rentals:
    5/25/19 - 6/16/19, weekends & holidays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    6/17/19 - 9/2/19, daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

    *Boat launch is available near the water for non-motorized, "car top" craft.  No parking in boat launch area, load/unload only.

Fees & Rates

Most New York State Parks charge a vehicle use fee to enter the facility. Fees vary by location and season. A list of entry fees and other park use fees is available below. For fees not listed or to verify information, please contact the park directly.

    $150/night, non-peak only
    Additional $25/week for out-of-state patrons
    Additional $7/day for out-of-state patrons
