Known as the Grand Canyon of the East, Letchworth State Park, is a 14,350-acre masterpiece. Named in 2015 as the Best State Park in the nation, Letchworth features a wild 17-mile gorge carved by the Genesee River tumbling over waterfalls and meandering through the heart of the park, providing spectacular views at every turn. The river crests over three major waterfalls amid cliffs as high as 600 feet encircled by lush forests teeming with wildlife.  The seven-mile gorge trail offers incredible vistas along its overlooks, or take the trail to the river's edge.  For more adventure, try experiencing the park by whitewater raft or hot air balloon. Lodging options include campsites, cabins, or the beautifully- restored Glen Iris Inn with its exquisite period décor and elegant meals.

Oak Orchard Marine State Park, Silver Lake State Park, Irondequoit Bay Marine Park and Conesus Lake Boat Launch provide boaters easy access to a day on the water and great fishing. Explore the historic 90-mile Genesee Valley Greenway trail. Try the campgrounds in the hilly woodlands of Darien Lakes State Park where you canfish, play disc golf, hike the multi-use trails and swim or sunbathe on the sandy beach.

Hamlin Beach State Park, on the southern shore of Lake Ontario, has superb fishing, several large swimming beaches, lakefront paths, great birding and a nature trail in the Yanty Creek Marsh area. Also on Lake Ontario is Lakeside State Park which offers fishing, picnicking, disc golf and panoramic views that bring thousands of visitors to this serene park year after year.
