Join an educator on a guided hike around the
lake to learn its secrets. Why is the lake green? How is it a rare lake? What
unusual life live in its depths? This is a two mile walk on a flat crushed
gravel trail. Usually takes between 1-1.5 hours. Guide presents info along the
first ¼ mile. Simply enjoy the walk and view for the rest of the hike and ask
the guide any questions you have. Meet at the Environmental Education Center
(west beach).

Bring a blanket for some family fun! Hear some
of the myths and legends told by the stars and look for constellations and
shooting stars. If it is cloudy, we will still have activities to do, but it
will be a shorter program. Bring a flashlight, bug spray, and a blanket. Meet

hand lenses to get up close with nature. Together we will learn how to make

bottle, and consider wearing bug spray. Meet at the Environmental Education

This Storytelling presentation is filled with
traditional Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) legends that have been told for hundreds
of years. These stories teach about the beliefs, customs, and history of
the Haudenosaunee people. Storyteller Perry Ground will bring the stories
to life through vivid descriptions, his rhythmic voice, and a VERY active stage
presence. These stories become ‘interactive' as Perry is known to include
audience members in the stories. Elements of traditional Haudenosaunee
lifestyle, pieces of historical information and LOTS of humor are woven into
each story. Discussion about the Haudenosaunee culture and the art of
storytelling is also part of this program. Not just for children, all
listeners (young and old), will find this presentation captivating, highly
entertaining yet very educational. Bring camp chairs or blankets to sit on. Dress for the cooler evening temperatures and bring bug spray. This program is
at the Reserve Shelter.

Join an American Canoe Association certified
kayak instructor to learn the basics of kayaking. We'll cover safety,
equipment, and how to paddle forward, backward, turn and stop. Dress in clothes
that will get wet (from splashes), wear sturdy shoes that will get wet when
entering and exiting the kayak, wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle. Kayaks, paddles, and life jackets provided (you may bring your own life
jacket). You may not bring your own kayak or paddle. Meet at the boathouse (1st

spray. Learn about these amazing animals from wildlife rehabilitator Cindy
Page. This event is free and open to the public. Park entry fee $10 per car.
Senior Citizens can show their license to get into the park for free on
weekdays (not Holidays).
