Take a leisurely walk around the beach area and
up to the Tulip Hill picnic area to hear about how Green Lakes became the park
it is today. Learn about the Civilian Conservation Corps building the park in
the 1930s. This hike is between 1-2 miles. Meet at the Environmental Education
Center (1st west beach parking area.)

into your hair? That they eat your blood. All of this is untrue! Come out to
learn the truth about these little animals through games, activities and maybe
even seeing them fly through the night sky. Meet at the reserve shelter ball
field. Wear bug spray and dress in layers.

Campground playground. Wear sturdy shoes and you may want bug spray.

Join an environmental educator as we explore
along our trails. We may even go a little off trail once or twice. We will use
hand lenses to get up close with nature. Together we will learn how to make
observations to become more aware of the natural world around us. We will walk
1 to 1.5 miles. Wear sneakers or other good walking shoes, bring a water
bottle, and consider wearing bug spray. Meet at the Environmental Education
Center (west beach.)

Birds of Prey Show

Join us for a live bird show! Meet at the
reserve picnic shelter. Bring chairs or blankets to sit on. You may want bug
spray. Learn about these amazing animals from wildlife rehabilitator Cindy
Page. This event is free and open to the public. Park entry fee $10 per car.
Senior Citizens can show their license to get into the park for free on
weekdays (not Holidays).

Animal Detective Hike

Join an educator on a short hike looking for signs of Green
Lakes' wildlife. Along the way we'll explore some examples of the clues that
animals leave behind. Bring the whole family! The hike will be along part of
the lake trail, up or down a flight of stairs, over a grass field and along
paved pathways. It will be less than 1 mile.

Candle Lantern Walk
