Come join us for a Sunset Hike at Rockwood Hall for what we hope will be a spectacular view over the Hudson and the Tappan Zee Bridge.

SUBJECT TO NY STATE COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS. Maximum 20 PARTICIPANTS ONLY. Face coverings are required at all events as is 6 feet social distancing.

Please dress according to weather conditions. Please bring water. We will gather at the main Kiosk. We will leave ON TIME. Parking lot is right below Phelps Hospital, off 117. Across the street from the parking lot is the path that leads up to the park. Leashed dogs welcome. In case of bad conditions, event may be cancelled, please watch for notices from Eventbrite. Every Tuesday, 9am – 11:30am, the Stewardship Team gathers to work on a wide range of activities including, habitat restoration, animal rescue, checking/setting trail cams, as well as trail maintenance and clean up! There is always something different to work on whether removing invasive plant species to make room for natives to grow, maintaining existing native habitat, assisting in plantings, or clearing debris from trails. Whatever the case may be, it is always better (and much more fun) to work in a group! Everyone welcome to join and be a part of this vital team. Please join us every Tuesday from 9:00am to 11:30am.

Please be sure to wear suitable clothing (long pants are a must) for working outdoors. At times, we will be going off trail and into tall grass. Please bring with you water and gloves if you have your own. Gloves will be provided, but supplies may be limited.

Full Moon Hike

Every month we give hikers an opportunity to experience the Preserve after dark in our "Full Moon Hike" series. Please join us for this very popular and special event. Please bring a flashlight or headlamp. Please dress according to weather conditions. Please bring water. Dogs welcome. Meet park office courtyard.

IMPORTANT: We leave promptly at scheduled times. This is a night hike, after the park has officially closed. Late-comers will not be allowed to enter the park after the group has departed. In case of bad conditions, event may be cancelled, please watch for notices from Eventbrite.

Meeting Location: Please meet at the small sheds, in the overflow parking lot. The overflow lot is the back parking lot, by the maintenance buildings. Special instructions: Please park in the overflow parking lot and meet by the two sheds. The overflow lot is the back parking lot, by the maintenance buildings.

Project 1: Invasive Plant Removal Project – Pulling Garlic Mustard, Mugwort and Phragmites in select areas around Swan Lake and Peaceful Path. This event is perfect for all ages. Please wear pants, boots and gloves Start time: 9am End time: 1pm All ages welcome Bring garden gloves. Additional tools: Please bring loopers or clippers if you have them.

Project 2: Courtyard paver replacement. Join RSPP staff in fixing broken stone pavers in the visitor center courtyard. Start time: 9am End time: 1pm Appropriate for 13 and up Bring garden gloves.

Project 3: Join RSPP staff for an OCA (Old Croton Aqueduct) trail project. The project will tackle a section of the OCA that goes through the Preserve. The meeting place for this project is TBD. Start time: 9am End time: 1pm Appropriate for 13 and up Bring garden gloves.

13 Bridges Loop and Eagle Hill

A 5-6 mile walk that will take you around the 13 Bridges Loop as well as up and around Eagle Hill offering views of the Hudson; returning along the Pocantico River. Walk will start at 9:00 AM in the Visitor Center Courtyard.
