New York State Parks to Hire 1,000 Lifeguards

Qualifying dates are scheduled across the state

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) is hiring more than 1,000 new and returning lifeguards for the summer season at its swimming beaches and pools.

"New York State Park lifeguards protect more than 25 million swimmers at State Park beaches and pools each year," said State Parks Commissioner Rose Harvey. "We are seeking dedicated individuals to be a part of this crucial team. Lifeguarding is a rewarding way to earn money and serve the public in a friendly, active and fun environment."

New York State Park lifeguards must meet certain eligibility criteria, which includes successfully completing the qualifying procedure, before being hired.
