The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) is hiring more than 1,000 new and returning lifeguards for the summer season at its swimming beaches and pools.

"New York State Park lifeguards are crucial to the success in protecting the millions of swimmers at State Park beaches and pools each year," said Acting State Parks Commissioner Erik Kulleseid.
