Southwick Beach State Park

Skip Navigation LinksHome / State Parks / Southwick Beach State Park

Great News! We are thrilled to announce that Southwick Beach State Park is undergoing some much-needed improvements this year. A new parking lot and new beach concession building are currently under construction. When complete, visitors will enjoy a brand new concession, laundry, arcade, and an outdoor gathering space to enjoy Lake Ontario's world class sunsets. Lifeguards will have a brand new office and first aid room to serve park visitors.

Please be aware that this construction will be ongoing through the 2019 season, and may present some inconveniences as we move toward an improved experience. The swimming beach, existing concession, and day use picnic areas will all be open on their regular schedule. There may be some times when access to some parts of the picnic area is temporarily limited for construction purposes. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (315) 938-5083.

Southwick Beach State Park is spacious and popular, known for outstanding swimming and sunning on its long sandy beach. Campers and day-users enjoy picnicking, hiking and games on the playing fields. The park is adjacent to the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area, home to the environmentally-sensitive coastal sand dunes. Park nature, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails adjoin the wildlife management area and its trail system, which visitors are encouraged to use. During the winter, snowmobilers are permitted in the park. Deer hunting is allowed south of the park entrance in season.
