The 2024 Farm Market season begins at John Jay Homestead on Saturday, May 4. This weekly outdoor, certified market provides the finest New York-grown, fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables, seafood, breads, specialty items and more on a historic farm setting. Every Saturday, from May through October, customers can expect to find certified organic and biodynamic produce, ethically-raised, organic meat and eggs, as well as a wide variety of artisan food items with dozens of weekly vendors.Farm Market is open from 9:30am to 2:00pm for the general public, while members of Friends of John Jay Homestead are offered the Members Only First Pick from 9:00am to 9:30am.

Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site
Join the Friends of the Bennington Battlefield for the
second annual Hoosick History & Heritage Fair at the Armory (80 Main
Street, Hoosick Falls) and enjoy a free trolley ride to the battlefield where
interpreters will be ready to share the history of the site. Events at the
Armory will include a scavenger hunt, book swap, live birds of prey, guest
speakers and BBQ lunch. Living historians will be on hand at the battlefield in
period dress and will conduct periodic black powder demonstrations. There is no
admission fee to visit either location.

Have you ever wondered what some of the ruins within Mills-Norrie State Park might be? The beautiful park land was once the setting for grand Hudson Riverfront estates. This 90-minute guided hike will lead visitors through the park, exploring the history of three historic estates: from Staatsburgh's founding as a gentleman's farm in the 1700s to the development of The Point and Stonehurst estates in the 19th century. Explore your creativity in the kitchen and art studio during this program led by The Sylvia Center Chefs and The Olana Partnership educators! In this class, we will make a delicious pasta salad inspired by scrumptious seasonal vegetables, explore Olana State Historic Site's historic kitchen garden, and draw new life and shapes in the meadow. This program is FREE (suggested donation $12) and advance registration is required. Registration includes all art-making supplies, a free lunch for each participant, and a voucher to participate in future cooking classes hosted by The Sylvia Center. At 9:00AM join LCH for the annual Parade of Hounds through Cazenovia. Signifying the start of the official "hunt" season, it begins at the village green on Emory Ave., next to Sullivan and Albany Streets, around the corner by the Brae Loch and on to Lorenzo. Following the parade there will be the traditional Blessing of the Hounds on the front lawn of Lorenzo (approximately 9:30AM)

will conduct camp activities while explaining the unit's start in New Jersey and
how they followed the army. Spencer's Regiment also garrisoned Stony Point in 1780
and was present during the Arnold/Andre West Point affair.
